Shiny Charizard GX – The new king of modern

Hidden Fates Shiny Charizard GX

It has been just over a week of Pokemon Hidden Fates release and already around the World a shortage for Hidden Fates Products has come. Don’t worry however, a new product release is coming on the 6th of September 2019 as of writing this article.

Hidden Fates combines a few sets from the Japanese expansions. Know in English as Shiny Vault. Out of the set comes a reprint of full-art / hyper-rare Pokemon cards in the alternative shiny version. Within the set we see a new Charizard GX (which a Charizard seems to be released in every set recently) and as demand to own the card has gripped collectors all over the World, the price has shot past the £400 (gbp) price and heading close to £500. This marks the most expensive modern Charizard Pokemon Card to date, surpassing it hyper rare version by almost £200.

Now, as a collector it would be great to own the card, however Hidden Fates is hard to get hold of right now. This is due to buy outs from fans and collectors hunting for the £500 Shiny Charizard. More product is coming and with it more Shiny Charizard GX to hit the market, which will cause the price to drop over time. So collectors, hold out. If you like the artwork only and not interested in the text or it being English, I highly recommend going for the Japanese version at on £60. It is much more affordable for a collector and since it is a lower price it will increase in value over the next 2 – 5 Years. However the English version of Shiny Charizard will likely drop by £100 – £200 in the next 6 – 12 Months.

A recent BGS 10 Shiny Charizard GX just sold for over $10,000. The Hype is real for the new Hyper-rare.

So what do you think of the new Hidden Fates set and more importantly the Shiny Charizard GX?
